Modern Slavery Statement — Skip Hire Anerley
Our commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking
Skip Hire Anerley is committed to conducting business ethically and with respect for human rights. This modern slavery statement sets out our zero-tolerance approach to forced labour, servitude, and human trafficking across our operations and supply chains. As Anerley skip hire specialists, we recognise the responsibility we carry to ensure all workers are treated fairly and lawfully.
Scope and approach
Our policy applies to all employees, contractors and suppliers engaged by Skip-hire Anerley and its affiliates. We aim to identify and mitigate risks through due diligence, training and ongoing monitoring. We require all partners to comply with our standards and expect the same high levels of integrity from the businesses we purchase from, including sub-contractors and temporary labour providers.
Risk assessment and supplier audits: We undertake regular risk assessments of our operations and our supply chain. Where higher risks are identified — for example in roles involving temporary labour, subcontracted collection services or materials handling — we carry out supplier audits, site inspections and documentation reviews. Audits include checks on working hours, wage records, right-to-work evidence, health and safety compliance, and grievance mechanisms.
Policies, training and communication
Policies are available to all staff and contractors and include a clear statement of zero tolerance towards modern slavery. Staff receive training on recognising signs of exploitation, appropriate escalation, and supplier management expectations. We reinforce these standards in procurement processes and contractual terms with every new skip hire Anerley supplier.
Key elements of our programme include:
- Pre-engagement checks for high-risk suppliers and contractors
- Ongoing supplier monitoring and periodic audits
- Mandatory training for staff in operations, procurement and HR
- Clear contractual clauses requiring compliance with labour and human rights laws
Reporting channels and whistleblowing
Skip Hire Anerley provides confidential reporting channels for employees, suppliers and third parties to raise concerns about suspected modern slavery or human trafficking. Reports can be raised internally through line managers or HR and through our anonymous whistleblowing process. We treat all reports seriously, investigate promptly and where required, work with authorities to resolve issues. Retaliation against anyone who raises concerns in good faith is strictly prohibited and handled as a disciplinary matter.
If exploitation is suspected, immediate steps are taken to protect affected individuals, including suspension of contracts with implicated suppliers pending investigation and appropriate remedial action.
Remediation and contractual measures
Where modern slavery or labour abuses are identified, Skip Hire Anerley will seek to remediate harm to victims, which may include working with NGOs and enforcement bodies to ensure safe outcomes. Contracts include termination rights and remediation obligations. We prefer corrective action where suppliers demonstrate commitment to change, but will end relationships where unacceptable practices persist.
Annual review and continuous improvement
We review this statement and our policies at least once a year as part of our annual compliance cycle. The review considers audit findings, incident reports, supplier performance and evolving legal requirements. Improvements are prioritised and implemented across the business and supply chain.
Skip Hire Anerley will continue to strengthen supplier audits, enhance staff training, and expand monitoring to new suppliers to reduce the risk of modern slavery. By combining a zero-tolerance policy with practical audit measures, accessible reporting channels, and a commitment to annual review, our goal is to ensure that our operations and those of our partners are free from modern slavery and exploitation.
